With a passionate two-decade tenure in hairstyling, I’ve cultivated an expansive portfolio ranging from wild, avant-garde creations to precisely tailored cuts and complimentary colors. My work is a harmonious blend of cut and color, mastering an array of styles including short and long cuts, soft shapes, textured bobs, pixies, layered clipper cuts, shags, along with a plethora of coloring techniques like balayage, highlights, creative color, lived-in looks, block color, and smoothing treatments. I continually draw inspiration from the world around me, fusing current trends with timeless fashion influences to craft a personalized style for each client. My artistry extends beyond the chair at Chelsea Salon into my dynamic life where I play drums for my bands, embark on day trips with my dog Slimer – a nod to Ghostbusters – and hunt for unique finds at thrift stores and record shops. Every experience, every travel destination, becomes a potential catalyst for creativity, fueling my passion.

Vanessa Nethers is a Portland hair stylist who’s been cutting hair in the city since 2007. She specializes in clipper cuts, short cuts, shags, bobs, mullets- though all hair lengths are welcome.

Outside the shop, she’s usually at a show, hanging with her friends, or out with her two dogs.

When I’m not at the salon, I am exploring the beautiful nature of the PNW, watching horror movies and live music, and spending as much time as possible with my dog.
